Community Involvement:
Music and Music Education is paramount at Zenergy Productions and we are very involved in supporting and encouraging the next generation of professional musicians. We have served as judges at several music competitions most notably with the NJ Teen Arts Foundation and Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. Zenergy Productions has offered master classes for NJ Teen Arts Foundation and area musicians through our artist roster and association with Aarius Studios and GC Pro, the professional division of Guitar Center. This is an endeavor we plan to bring nationwide in the very near future.

ABOUT THE OWNERS

     Robert "Jake" Haley brings over 20 Years of Managerial and Musical experience to the offices of Zenergy Productions. Being raised by a single mother whose work as a High School Mathematics teacher, gave a Jake a high degree of independence at an early age. Very athletic and with a love of the outdoors, Jake applied his energies to playing baseball and anything that kept him outside regardless of the weather. He was an All-Star Right Fielder in his home town of Edison, New Jersey and was a Boy Scout from the age of 10 until he was 18. Music, however, was always an integral part of his life and what time he was not giving to sports was spent with his best friends Chris and Smitty who were musicians.
     After graduating High School, Jake enrolled in college but soon realized that there was a work ethic he needed to develop to excel and he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as Military Policeman. Jake served proudly in Washington, D.C and the Republic of Korea. Jake received several awards and commendations throughout his career but he is most proud of a letter he received from Ronald Reagan and a gift of thanks from Roe Tae Woo President of the Republic of Korea. In these years, Jake developed as a leader serving as a Team Leader and Squad Leader and having the chance to see it all applied by meeting Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and then Vice President George H.W. Bush.
     Since returning to the United States, Jake has earned an Associates Degree in English from Middlesex County College and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre: Design and Production from Montclair State University. His love of music never far away, Jake worked as stagehand and road crew for local, regional and national bands to pay for school a job he still does occaisionally. Although successful as an artist, he yearned for an Administrative and Leadership position as well and worked for eight years as the Assistant Technical Director of the Theatre Department at Middlesex County College.
     Jake is proud to be able to work with Mike and Pete as well as the talented artists Zenergy represents. "The sense of family that we feel for each other and our clients is very important to us. Yes this is a business and we treat it as such but we refuse to treat someone like a paycheck or an account in a ledger. It's the people that give music its soul and that's how it is here at Zenergy."

     The formation of Zenergy Productions is the culmination of over 20 years of working in the arts and entertainment field for Michael "Smitty" Smith. The son of two teachers, Mike understood the importance of education and the role that music played as a part of education. Throughout his childhood, Mike was a stand out in all areas of music (concert, jazz and marching bands - concert and acapella choirs - all region and all state choirs - male ensemble and barbershop quartet). In his senior year of High School, he was the only male in New Jersey selected for the All Eastern Seaboard Choir. Mike was the recipient of scholarships to the Cornwall-on-the Hudson Military Academy, Berklee School of Music, and Glassboro State College. He also sang and played bass in his own band which gained a considerable local following in central NJ and later, went on to become the drummer for a more successful regional band.
     Mike attended the Arts Institute of Philadelphia (Music / Video Business program). He began working in local bars and clubs as security and booking bands. He was also recording and producing bands and artists out of the recording studio at the Arts Institute. Soon he got into artist management and was a virtual "one stop shop" for musicians in need of one or more of his services. Throughout his time at the Art Institute, Mike developed a considerable list of industry contacts including Grammy Award winning producers and engineers Jim Gallagher (Stevie Wonder) and Ted Greenburg (The Hooters), promotion experts, entertainment lawyers and videographers.
    After finishing school, Mike continued to delve deeper and deeper into all facets of the entertainment industry. A combination of schooling and life experience has put Mike in a position to provide the clients of Zenergy Productions with conscientious and knowledgeable guidance and leadership. It also put him in the enviable position to work along side some of his musical influences and heroes. Not bad for a kid from Edison, New Jersey

     Born and raised in the Bronx, Peter Ramos grew up surrounded all types of music from Salsa to Blues, Rock to Rap. There are no forms of music I don't find myself attracted to. Music is a language to me and it is a large part of who I am. No matter whom I meet, I can relate to them somehow through some type of music. Being a part of Zenergy Productions is a way for me to try and bring my love of music to those around me.
